Seafarers Ministry

Seafarers Ministry
This ministry provides pastoral care to seafarers from across the globe. At two Seafarers Centers in the presbytery, seafarers have access to counseling, telephones, recreation, and worship services. New Covenant chaplains who work in this ministry are Tom Edwards  and David Wells.

Christmas Boxes for Seafarers
Seafarer chaplains hand deliver wrapped shoeboxes full of small gifts to seafarers during the holidays. They begin shortly after Thanksgiving and continue gifting seafarers until all the gifts have been distributed! These gifts of love should be packed shoebox sizeWRAPPED SECURELY as one unit in Christmas paper. PLEASE DO NOT WRAP LID AND BOX SEPARATELY. Please do not place bows on the boxes. Plastic shoeboxes become an extra gift for the seafarer! Find more details including gift suggestions here.
You are encouraged to visit the Seafarers’ Center and bring your boxes to either center. Questions? Call 713.672.0511 or email
